Mahindra Logistics Contract Logistics Business (Q1 FY27)
Contract Logistics remains the largest operating vertical and the main contributor to group revenue and EBITDA. Growth during Q1 FY27 was supported by Mahindra's auto and farm businesses along with e-commerce, manufacturing and other 3PL customer wins.
- Revenue: Rs 1,623 crore, up 26% YoY from Rs 1,289 crore.
- Gross margin: Around Rs 166 crore, up 21% YoY.
- EBITDA: Rs 111.7 crore compared with Rs 85.4 crore in Q1 FY26.
- EBITDA margin: Improved to around 6.9% from 6.6% in Q1 FY26.
- Growth drivers: Mahindra auto and farm operations, e-commerce, manufacturing and telecom customers contributed to business momentum.
- Q1 margin pressures: Manpower shortages, new-site ramp-up costs and minimum-wage revisions affected gross margins.
Management indicated that part of the Q1 cost pressure was concentrated around project ramp-ups, while overhead efficiencies and operating leverage helped offset the impact at the EBITDA level.
Mahindra Logistics Express Business (Q1 FY27)
The B2B Express business continued its turnaround during Q1 FY27, with strong revenue growth and a shift from negative to positive gross margins. Management remains focused on customer quality, network utilisation, service levels and pricing rather than pursuing volumes alone.
- Revenue: Rs 152.4 crore, up 57.6% YoY from Rs 96.7 crore.
- Gross margin: Rs 9.2 crore compared with a negative Rs 3.6 crore in Q1 FY26.
- Gross margin rate: Around 5.9% in Q1 FY27.
- EBITDA: Loss reduced to Rs 1.6 crore from Rs 11.8 crore in Q1 FY26.
- Fuel recovery: Around 80% of the fuel-cost escalation had been passed on to B2B customers at the time of the Q1 earnings call.
- FY27 objective: Management is targeting EBITDA breakeven for the Express business during FY27.
Operational interventions include better backhaul utilisation, lower first-mile and last-mile costs, improved network service levels, tighter quality control and a greater focus on value-accretive customers.
Mahindra Logistics Last Mile and Freight Forwarding (Q1 FY27)
Last Mile Delivery and Freight Forwarding followed different trajectories during the quarter. Last Mile deliberately reduced lower-quality revenue while improving profitability, whereas Freight Forwarding faced customer attrition and a difficult geopolitical environment.
- Last Mile revenue: Rs 71.2 crore compared with Rs 85 crore in Q1 FY26.
- Last Mile gross margin: Rs 6.3 crore, up 62.4% YoY.
- Last Mile EBITDA: Rs 2.6 crore compared with a loss of Rs 0.5 crore.
- Last Mile strategy: Lower revenue reflected a conscious decision to prioritise profitable business over low-margin volumes.
- Freight Forwarding revenue: Rs 45.3 crore compared with Rs 73.8 crore in Q1 FY26.
- Freight Forwarding gross margin: Rs 4.6 crore during Q1 FY27.
- Freight strategy: Management is rebuilding the customer pipeline and commercial coverage after customer attrition during the business transition.
The operating focus in both businesses has therefore shifted towards revenue quality and profitability rather than maintaining volumes irrespective of customer economics.
Mahindra Logistics Mobility Business (Q1 FY27)
Mobility provides employee transportation and other B2B mobility services alongside selected B2C offerings. The vertical recorded strong revenue growth in Q1 FY27 as the company added customers and developed its airport mobility operations.
- Revenue: Rs 111 crore, up 38.2% YoY from Rs 80.3 crore.
- Gross margin: Rs 8.9 crore, up around 2% YoY.
- EBITDA: Rs 2.5 crore compared with Rs 2.3 crore in Q1 FY26.
- B2B strategy: Customer acquisition remains the principal growth focus.
- Airport mobility: The company is scaling services at Delhi and the newly launched Noida airport operation.
- Capital discipline: Management withdrew from the Mumbai airport operation because it did not meet internal return thresholds.
Management has stated that mobility expansion will be selective, with scale being added where commercial rights and operating economics meet internal profitability requirements.
Mahindra Logistics Customer Mix and Warehousing Efficiency (Q1 FY27)
Mahindra Group businesses remain important customers, but Mahindra Logistics continues to pursue growth across both group and non-group accounts. Warehousing utilisation is another key profitability lever following a period of rapid space additions.
- Mahindra customer contribution: Close to 60% of business during Q1 FY27.
- Non-Mahindra focus: Management continues to pursue new business across e-commerce, manufacturing, telecom and other sectors.
- Historical white space: Around 1.6 million sq. ft. at the starting point in Q1 FY26.
- White-space target: Management remained on track to reduce this by 95% by September 2026.
- Cross-selling: Management sees further potential to sell Express and other services to existing 3PL customers.
Improving warehouse utilisation and increasing the number of services sold to existing customers can support operating leverage without requiring the same level of incremental customer-acquisition expenditure.
Mahindra Logistics Q1 FY27 Financial Performance
Consolidated Q1 FY27 results showed strong revenue growth and a return to meaningful PAT profitability. Operating performance improved across most verticals, although the quarter also included non-recurring interest income from an income-tax refund.

Mahindra Logistics FY26 Financial Base
FY26 marked a return to consolidated profitability after two loss-making years. Revenue growth was spread across several verticals, while restructuring and operating discipline improved business economics.
- FY26 consolidated revenue: Rs 6,999 crore, up 15% YoY.
- FY26 EBITDA: Rs 376 crore compared with Rs 284 crore in FY25.
- Operational PAT: Rs 8.2 crore compared with a loss of Rs 35.8 crore in FY25.
- Reported PAT: Rs 2.3 crore.
- Express revenue growth: 25% YoY in FY26.
- Freight Forwarding revenue growth: 14% YoY.
- Mobility revenue growth: 22% YoY.
- Warehousing footprint: 20.4 million sq. ft. under management at FY26-end.
The FY26 base is important because Q1 FY27 represents a continuation of the company's shift from restructuring towards profitable growth.
